Second Edition Psychedelic Quest Zine in the Works!
In 2016, I made an art book / zine called Psychedelic Quest and Other Hallucinogenic Journeys. I invited a group of ten artists to submit artwork and writing about psychedelic experiences and hallucinogens. The result of my asking for this content was Psychedelic Quest – 36 beautiful pages of black risograph printed artwork and literature. Anyone familiar to self-publishing and zine making know that it’s a labor of love and I learned a lot about this book making process – layout, InDesign, coordinating artists, and printing.
The first time, I printed a relatively small zine run of 200 copies and I’ve just about all sold out! So here I am making a second edition print which I am hoping to debut at the Portland Zine Symposium in July. I finished printing the last pages at Outlet PDX, the risograph print studio of artist, Kate Bingaman-Burt last week. The second edition of Psychedelic Quest is going to be so PSYCHEDELIC! This edition is printed in cornflower blue, and has new back cover art which is one of the collages that I made last year. So far, I’m really enjoying the process of revisiting my old work and adjusting the layout.
